Manager, Inventory/Logistics (Hybrid)
The mission of the Manager, Inventory / Logistics is to ensure inventory accuracy by coordinating inventory system to system information with distribution centers, establish protocols to support inventory integrity, and establish and maintain 3rd party key performance indicators. To ensure goods are shipped in the most efficient manner according to documented processes, including planning the transportation route and payload, selecting the mode of transportation, tendering the order for transportation, and tracking the shipment from pick up through delivery all the while targeting cost reduction, freight savings, service and contractual and legal requirements.
Responsibilities
Inventory and Logistics Management:
Ensures inventory accuracy by coordinating the inventories and goods system to system information with distribution centers to near real time monitoring of EDI processes as well as other manual inventory and adjustment processes;
Supervise, oversee, and plan every activity that relates to inventory control in the organization or warehouse environment including cycle count program and physical inventory if needed
Ensure all transactions are maintained and executed within the ERP system pertaining to po receipts and customer fulfillment and resolve any discrepancies
Initiates shrink threshold and loss claims with warehouse providers and tracking reconciliation of the same per contract standards
Manage the quoting, selection, and performance of 3rd party warehouse(s)
Oversee all aspects of quoting, selection, and performance of domestic and international freight carriers including LTL, TL, and containers
Respond to and resolve complaints and problems
Optimization Maintenance:
Establish KPI metrics to improve customer service, transit time, and cost.
Organizes and maintains hard copy and electronic documentation supporting order fulfillment, distribution means, pricing, and contractual obligations,
Transportation:
Works closely with providers to assure efficient and effective execution of defined processes and goods transportation
Coordinate daily activity to track location and movement of inventory finished goods and raw materials via truck, rail cars, and vessel. Provide reports to internal and external customers as required.
Active understanding of Haz Mat, IATA., IMDG and DOT regulations
Timely resolution of transportation issues and ensure long term corrective actions are in place.
Initiates overcharge/undercharge freight bill claims with carriers and tracks reconciliation of the same per regulatory standards,
Re-routes freight as needed to meet demands and minimize costs
Import / Export:
Provide Export/Import advice to both internal and external customers
Ensure Compliance within government regulations
Supports and actively complies with the security duties and responsibilities described in C-TPAT Security Program
Provides and complete necessary regulatory information and forms for import/export shipments to the appropriate agencies
Coordination with import/export compliance agencies
Understanding of IATA regulations, export transportation, and HTS codes
Communication / IT
Utilize various transportation provider software systems, to facilitate material movement planning and scheduling.
Order management systems
Electronic Data Interface (inbound/outbound)
3rd Party Inventory Systems
Communicates fulfillment status and / or issues within the Organization to points including Demand / Supply Planning, Logistics Management, Sales, and Customer Service
Team Development and Management:
Trains, Develops, and motivates staff
Participates in weekly staff meetings
Organizes daily workflow and appropriate resource workload
Outline department objectives for team members to ensure standards are met.
Ensure all team members represent BRIGHT AIR in a professional, courteous and efficient manner to new and existing customer accounts
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding and Logistics Management
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Public Warehousing or 3PL storage management
Degree or Certificate in Business Management, Operations, or Supply Chain or equivalent years of experience.
Bachelors Preferred.

Must have proven ability to work in a fast pace entrepreneurial team environment
International and Export experience preferred.
MRP, inventory, and logistics functional expertise
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 with emphasis on excel pivot tables.
APICS certification a plus.
Environmental Factors & Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to work in an office environment
This position requires travel by car and occasional travel by air.
Applicant must have the ability to move freely throughout all our partner’s distribution centers.
